Abstract

|
|
A case of carcinoma involving the central portion of lower lip is reported and literatures are reviewed. One year ago, the patient, 65 year-old Korean male developed the lip cancer as a flat ulcer covered by crust. On physical examination, enlarged submental or submaxillary lymph nodes were not palpable, V-shaped excision was carried out and approximation necessiated the modified Bean´s method due to the undue tension on both flap. Prophylactic suprahyoid neck dissection and X-ray radiation were performed. Frozen section during the operation was negative. After 11 month, metastatic tumor mass occured on submental area. So second operation, bilaterl radical neck dissection using double transverse incision, was undertaken.
